WHEN FIRE BROKE OUT IN THE LABORATORY THIS ARE THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW

When imcompatible chemical explode, there be the named of fire emergency measure (FEM)

1 first aid apply to the lab should be include emergency management of heat burns (fire).

2 First aid chart given the immidiate treatment of burnts should be prepeared and displayed in the lab.

EMERGENCY TREATMENT OF HEAT BURN

If clothing is  light during fire out brake, one should use fore blanket

Remove the person from the danger area.

Immidiately plug the burn area into cold water or spply a pad sucked in cold water ( or anything non inflamable liquid) to the affected part of the body for ten minutes.

Cover with a dry dressing

Remove any constracting particle such as ring bracket before the affected area cold.

Note: the affected area will swell and become blister.

provide frequent small cold water should be noted that if the burnt is more than what you can manage, you seek medicsl treatment immidiately reasurance of the casualty is very important.

CHEMICAL BURN OF THE SKIN

- Remove the affecte part and imense it immiately in a runing eater for several minutes.

- Remove in contaminated clothing.

- Neutralise with sodium biocanate powder.

-If it is an acidic burn neutralize with sodium biocabonate powder

- seek for medical atension.

FIRE EXTINGUSHERS

The simplest means fire fighting equipment which include;

1 Bucket of water to extinguish paper fabric and wood fire, water however must never be used to pull of electricsl fire over chemicsl fire.

2 Bucket of sand or dry soil (keep free from refuse) to smoker flame and containd fire can be extinguish in a free flowing liquid.

3 Fire blanket made from heavy cotton, turne treated with fire resistant, chemical or preferably a manufactural fire blanket from woven fibres. Put on glass sandwich between a fire resistant material to extinguish fire on personal clothing or a small fire on the floor or on the bench.

4 Dry powder chemical fire extinguisher: this are used to extinguish electricsl fire and fire cause by flamalble liquid.

Note: when possible, the lab should be fitted with a batrry some ductator than sound or alarm, it should be tested at regullar interval as recormended by the manufactural.
